Parent Education Program

On October 8, Yajaira Pons shared her expertise on the college admissions process with PEP families. As a first-generation Latina college student, Yajaira brings a wealth of personal and professional experiences in higher education, including roles in undergraduate admissions, financial aid, academic advising, and residential life. During the presentation, conducted entirely in Spanish, Yajaira provided an insider’s perspective on the college admissions and financial aid process. She also shared essential advice and actionable steps for effective and appropriate parental support at each stage of their student’s college journey.

On October 17, Yajaira will return to conduct this presentation in English from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad facility. We thank our Summit EMS friends for sharing their space with us!

We look forward to welcoming her back and continuing our partnership with PEP families!
