A Day in the Life

Experience a Day at PEP

When most of their peers’ days are ending, a PEP student’s day is just getting started. PEP students work hard and play hard in an environment that’s challenging and fun.

Grades 7-9

  • 3:00 PM: At 2:50, PEP middle school students are dismissed from class and walk over to the PEP House. They’ll grab a snack and enjoy some free time, playing sports and interacting with their peers.
  • 3:30 PM: Students go to individual stations and begin their homework. Some will study independently, while others will engage in individual tutoring. Tutor-led group sessions help students focus on a specific topic, study for an upcoming assessment, or work on a long-term project.
  • 4:30 – 5:15 PM: Students may also participate in social-emotional workshops, college readiness lessons, and executive functioning skills coaching. At 5:15, it’s time to pack up and head home.

Grades 10-12

  • 5:30 PM: High school students arrive at the PEP House, settle in, and have dinner.
  • 6:00 PM: Like PEP middle-schoolers, high school students participate in college and career readiness workshops, social-emotional skill development, and executive functioning skills coaching. They may spend time with a PEP college counselor discussing placement tests or tailoring applications to a specific school’s requirements.
  • 6:30 – 7:30 PM: Working at their stations, some students might receive individual tutoring in English, history, math, and science. Others use this time for individual or small group study, depending on their needs. At 7:30, PEP high school students wrap up their assignments for the day and head home.

“PEP has become more than just a tutoring program for me; it’s become a place where I can learn and grow.”
