Scholarships and Financial Assistance

Investing in Education Today, Shaping Futures Tomorrow

PEP wants every student to make the most of their college experience. We take a hands-on approach by visiting campus, monitoring academic progress, and facilitating workshops to aid in their personal and professional growth.

PEP Scholarship for Academic Excellence

  • Summit High School students in the PEP Program are eligible for up to a $1,000 scholarship for maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or higher each year. They can earn $250 per year for meeting this requirement.
  • PEP post-secondary students in good standing can receive up to $500 per year for academic excellence. This award is given to those who make the Dean’s List or equivalent at the end of each semester.

PEP Financial Assistance

  • PEP graduates from Summit High School who enroll in post-secondary programs are eligible for financial assistance to help cover tuition, room and board, books, and other fees after all other financial aid sources have been applied.
  • Eligible students can receive up to $8,000 per academic year for up to five years post-graduation, provided they remain in good standing with the program.
  • The assistance is a “last dollar” award, calculated after applying for FAFSA, HESAA (for NJ schools), and other local scholarships. The amount awarded may vary based on financial need.

“The PEP Program not only provided me with the financial assistance to achieve a college education but also set me up with the tools needed to navigate adulthood and my career, which in turn has allowed me to experience financial stability and travel the world. Without the assistance of PEP, I’m not sure I would be where I am in life, and for that, I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this program.”

Austin Mujai, Alum

“PEP gave me the opportunity to attend a well-renowned school and a chance to come out of college with low debt due to the tuition assistance. When you come from a low-income family, it is so much harder to establish one’s self in the real world after school. PEP gave me a leg up and a fighting chance amongst my peers.”
